Didcot - Alma Barn, Didcot Road

Working closely in partnership with Advinia Healthcare and Octopus Real Estate, Mercian have delivered a brand new residential and dementia care home in Didcot. The scheme provides a total of 85 beds with balcony viewing areas and landscaped gardens.


Taunton - Comeytrowe

We have now exchanged contracts with Amica. The care scheme in Taunton received a unanimous approval at planning committee. The care home required a neutrality strategy due to a phosphate/nitrate catchment issue.

The Parks, Uttoxeter  

Mercian have agreed a forward funding deal to deliver a care home in Uttoxeter. Construction works have now commenced on site (October 2023). Once delivered, it will provide a brand new 76 bedroom care home which will be operated by Borough Care Ltd, along with 14 affordable homes.

Moreton in Marsh - Fosse Way

Mercian secured delegated planning consent for a 60 bed care home on behalf of Taylor &Taylor. The scheme completed in March 2024, built by Kori Construction. The site is located within the Cotswold AONB next door to Aldi on Fosse Way.


Mercian Group has now received planning for a 128 bedroom care home in Bodicote. The committee granted the scheme with a unanimous decision. The home has been designed and tailored to our operators specifications, and when complete, they will be looking to relocate their two ageing existing homes in the area, to this state of the art facility.

Cowbridge - South Wales

Mercian is pleased to announce exchange of contracts with McCarthy Stone in the beautiful market town of Cowbridge, South Wales. McCarthy Stone have now submitted a planning application comprising retirement living apartments and a commercial office space. The site is 2.4 acres (approximately) and was a former vacant dairy farm.

Milton Drive, Market Drayton

Mercian received outline planning permission in March 2024 for their site in Market Drayton through their new JV company Mercroft. Mercroft is a 50/50 business with Mercian and Barcroft Estates. The outline permission allows for up to 71 beds and a 3-storey contemporary design. Mercroft anticipates having a reserved matters consent by end of 2024.

Carline Fields - Shrewsbury

Mercian acquired a derelict site operating as a temporary car park which was developed to provide 65 one, two and three bed apartments occupying a unique river frontage at this gateway to Shrewsbury.

The Headlands - Torquay

Mercian acquired a former nurses home from the Health Authority and developed this flagship residential scheme of 34 luxury apartments with 3 penthouse suites

The Close - Newcastle Upon Tyne

Mercian acquired the land at The Close and a former fish wholesale warehouse was demolished and redeveloped to promote 43 one and two bed apartments

Didcot -  Phase II Alma Barn

Mercian completed the sale of the remaining parcel of land to Christchurch Homes, on land adjacent to the recently completed care home. Christchurch  propose a mix of 1 and 2 bed homes, and planning permission has been approved, with work on site to commence in 2024.
